Do you love vibrant, rich colors? If the answer is “Yes”, then you will go crazy for the Ragin’ Red™ Dogwood Tree. This break-through variety has flowers of the deepest red known in dogwoods, and the leaves join in too, being deep burgundy in spring, dark olive green in summer, and brighter red in fall. Not only will you enjoy the richness of the spring blooms, but for the rest of the year there will be interest and unique coloring too. Growing into a handsome small tree about 20 feet tall and 25 feet across, in time, this lovely tree is a great addition to any garden. It looks great as a lawn specimen in a smaller garden, or edging natural woodland in a larger one. Use it in any style of garden, from the most formal English look to a minimalist Japanese theme – it’s always going to look just great.

  • Striking deep-red flowers in spring – the darkest of any dogwood
  • Spring foliage is burgundy, gradually becoming olive-green through summer
  • Wonderful fall colors of brighter shades of deep reds
  • Beautiful small tree with a charming form
  • Perfect for any style of garden, from formal to Japanese

The Ragin’ Red™ Dogwood Tree will grow well in most areas, from zone 5 to zone 9. It thrives in any deep, richer soil that is well-drained. A slight preference for acidic soils, but neutral soil works well too. Use mulch to conserve moisture and provide some afternoon shade if you are growing in a hotter zone. Less suitable for inner city areas with high pollution. This tree is usually pest and disease free, but good placement, rich soil and reducing water-stress by regular watering makes a big difference to your tree’s health.
