Both compact and colorful, the Yellow Futurity Canna Lily is the perfect summer flower for smaller gardens. Fast-growing, it soon forms a dense clump of stems about 3 feet tall, making a cluster of broad, glossy, tropical leaves topped with heads of frilly, bright yellow blooms. Bright and colorful, it is the perfect way to add height to your plantings of annual flowers, or to bring color among your evergreens. Use it as an accent plant among perennials, or grow it in a pot or tub – a terrific way to brighten your porch or terrace. Canna lilies are amazingly easy to grow, and a great plant for new gardeners. Hummingbirds and pollinating insects are attracted to it, adding life and interest to your garden. Bring a touch of the tropics to your garden through summer and right up to the first fall frost with this great plant, which is just so easy to succeed with.

  • Compact growing, to just 3 feet, so ideal for smaller gardens
  • Beautiful and colorful light-yellow flowers through summer and early fall
  • A magnet for hummingbirds and pollinating insects
  • A great accent plant, and ideal for growing in pots and planter boxes
  • Keep dormant root indoors during winter, in colder zones

The Yellow Futurity Canna Lily should be planted in full sun, in any well-drained soil, including sandy ones. Enrich the soil with compost, and water regularly, especially when first planted, for maximum growth and flowering. Use liquid fertilizer regularly for plants growing in pots. Deer and rabbits won’t eat it, and it doesn’t have any pests or diseases, so it’s very easy to succeed with. In zone 8 and warmer areas it can be left in the ground all winter – just cut back the stems to the ground once the foliage deteriorates. In colder zones, after the first frost, lift the plant and let it dry. Remove the soil and foliage, and store the pieces of root in a paper bag with some dry peat moss, in a cool, frost-free place. Start into growth indoors in March in pots, planting out once the danger of frost has passed, or plant directly outdoors in late April or May.
