Plant the Lil’ Kim® Red Hardy Hibiscus in full sun for the most blooms, although a couple of hours in the shade each day will be fine too. It grow easily and rapidly in any well-drained soil, even poor, sandy ones, and once established it tolerates drought and heat well. Deer, pests, and diseases don’t bother it, and it revels in the hot and humid days. No need to dead-head, flowers just fall away and are replaced by new ones. Prune in spring to stimulate compact new growth – nothing more is needed.
