You will indeed be intrigued by the unique coloring and beauty of the Intrigue Floribunda Rose Tree. A blend of deep red and purple, the moody and darkly-romantic tones bring a special coloring to your garden, and in a vase, and you will love the antique look of this rose – intriguing indeed. A variety that thrives in hotter zones, we had our breeders raise it on a short but sturdy trunk, creating a tree with a rounded to arching crown of branches, perfect for a specimen among flowers and low shrubs, or in hotter zones as a potted tree for a patio or terrace. It blooms over a long season, from early summer right into the fall, and the large clusters of flowers (each 3 ½ inches across) will brighten your garden for months on end. Not to mention how disease resistant this plant is, and how vigorous and reliable it will be in your garden. If you love roses, mystery, antiques and beauty, this is the rose bush for you.

  • Richly-colored blooms in moody shades of purple-red
  • On a short trunk, with long, arching branches making the crown
  • Blooms in waves from mid-summer right into the fall
  • An excellent choice for hotter parts of the country
  • Very disease resistant

Grow your Intrigue Floribunda Rose Tree in full sun for maximum blooming. Grow it in rich, moist, well-drained soil. Roses like lots of rich compost or rotted manure, and grow well in heavier clay-loam soils, and not so vigorously in light, sandy soils. Both acidic and alkaline soils are suitable. This plant is hardy to zone 6, and grows best in warmer areas. It has excellent disease resistance, and will not need regular spraying for pests or diseases. Minor pests like green-fly can be controlled with a spray of soapy water. Provide a strong stake for the trunk, and secure it into the crown, to protect from breakage. Remove roses as they die, cutting back the cluster to the first full-sized leaf, once all the roses in it have bloomed. Prune in spring, removing thin, weak branches and leaving a sturdy framework of healthy stems, always cutting just above a strong outward-facing bud.
