For the most colorful roses on the block, plant the Gumball Goody™ Rose. The abundant blooms open yellow, with a pink margin, and mature to cream with bright red margins. In bloom continuously from May to September, the blooms completely turns dark orange-red during colder weather in spring and fall. An upright, rounded and compact bush, it grows no more than 3 feet tall and wide, fitting perfectly into any garden. Plant it as an accent in any bed, alone or in groups, or use it as a colorful border. It is also terrific in planters and pots, brightening your terrace, porch or patio. It produces a continuous succession of flower sprays, each one lasting 3 weeks, and immediately followed by new blooms. The foliage stays clean and fresh, thanks to its excellent resistant to leaf diseases, and its vigorous growth makes it super easy to grow, even if it’s your first rose – and what better one could you choose?

  • Flowers non-stop from May right through September
  • Flowers begin pink, then turn cream with red petal edges, finishing solid red
  • Great disease resistance means clean, bushy foliage throughout the season
  • Excellent cold resistance all through zone 4
  • Easy to grow and a great rose for new gardeners

The Gumball Goody™ Rose needs a spot in full sun to keep it blooming well. Plant it in well-drained soil that you have enriched with plenty of compost, and use more for mulch. After the first year, apply rose food in early spring and again in summer, using liquid forms regularly for plants in pots. Roses enjoy heavy, clay-loam and clay soils, and should be watered as needed to keep those blossoms coming through hot, dry weather. It doesn’t produce seed pods, so flowers drop and disappear, so no need to dead head. Prune in spring, removing weak, twiggy growth, and cut the main branches back by half to two-thirds, cutting just above an outward-facing bud. This plant is highly resistant to black spot, so spraying isn’t needed. For minor pests like aphids, use our natural and safe Neem oil spray.
