Your dreams of a garden of unique plants will come true when you plant the Golden Dream Korean Fir. This charming dwarf evergreen grows steadily into a broad mount of gold suitable for the end of any rainbow, your rock garden, or in a pot. Maturing around 5 feet wide and 4 feet tall, it will become an impressive specimen, dense and bushy, with all the charm of the best dwarf forms. The needles are rich golden-yellow, most striking during winter cold, making a handsome winter highlight. In summer, and if in shade, the needles are more lime-green, especially inside the plant. Grow it in a rock garden, beside a path or at the foot of a wall. Add it to a feature bed of dwarf evergreens, where the golden needles will contrast beautifully with the blues and green of the other plants. Lovely in a pot or window box, where it can be admired close up.

  • Striking broad mound of dense branches
  • Needles are bright yellow, with the strongest color during the cold winter months
  • Excellent dwarf evergreen for highlights, rock gardens or planters
  • Great for a dedicated bed of dwarf evergreens
  • Grows best in cooler zones, with some sun protection in winter

Plant the Golden Dream Korean Fir in full sun, or in partial shade. Morning shade in winter is best to avoid foliage burn. Grows best in areas with cooler summers, and not suitable for the hot, humid weather of the southeast. Plant in moist, well-drained soil, preferably neutral or acidic, and enrich the soil with compost or other organic materials. No trimming is needed to keep the rounded, compact form of this handsome plant. Not eaten by deer or rabbits, and normally free of pest or disease problems.
