Enjoy an exciting flower display for months and months with the Frill Ride® Reblooming Hydrangea. This compact plant stands just 2 or 3 feet tall, and is smothered for months in 6-8 inch flower heads packed with unique blossoms. With over 60 in each flower head, the 2-inch blossoms have exciting twisted petals that make the head look frilly and undulating, not flat and dull. The first flowers open in late spring and last for 2 months, while new shoots from the base produce blooms in summer that last into early fall. The flowers are rich pink in alkaline soils and bright blue in acidic ones, great additions to the color palette of your garden. With its handsome, leathery foliage you will enjoy beauty from spring to fall. A great addition to your shade garden, and an exciting floral display for months – what a ride!

  • Weather-resistant heads of frilly blossoms bring a unique look
  • Flowers on older stems in late spring, new ones in mid-summer
  • Flower heads last 2 months in full color
  • Pink in alkaline soils, blue in acidic soils
  • Needs just a few hours of sun each day

Grow the Frill Ride® Reblooming Hydrangea with a few hours of morning sun, or with more sun in colder zones. Plant it in any rich, moist, well-drained soil, adding plenty of compost when planting, and as annual mulch. Water regularly, hydrangeas are not drought tolerant. Flower heads can be left to turn soft brown and last for months, or removed just above the first side buds. Prune in spring by removing any twiggy branches and only trim back to the first healthy side-buds. Don’t remove healthy terminal buds, which produce the first flush of blooms. Easy to grow in suitable soil, and generally pest and disease free.
