If you love eating delicious fresh grapes, but hate those seeds, then the Flame Seedless Red Grape will have you in heaven. The delicious grapes are carried in medium-sized clusters, and are rich claret red, with firm, crunchy flesh that is packed with sweet juice with a delicious tangy edge. Of course there are no seeds, and this variety ripens early compared to other grapes so you won’t have to wait till summer is almost over before enjoying an abundant crop of these lovely grapes. A vigorous vine covering a large area, it is perfect for growing on a fence or pergola, or for training along wires. The handsome vine leaves are large and decorative, and can be used in the kitchen too, stuffed with rice and meat. A popular variety, because it is easy to grow, reliable, and produces a good crop of superb grapes.

  • Delicious seedless grapes with deep red skin
  • Crunchy texture with lots of sweet-tangy juice and excellent flavor
  • Ornamental leaves that turn golden yellow in fall
  • Beautiful growing on a pergola, gazebo or fence
  • Prune regularly, as needed, to control the size

Choose a sunny spot for the Flame Seedless Grape, which won’t flower in shade. The soil should be very well-drained, so don’t add compost when planting. Not bothered by deer or rabbits, and any problems can be dealt with using organic methods. Water young plants, and when the berries are developing. Prune in early spring as only new stems will carry any fruit. Cut back stems of the previous year to just 2 buds, leaving a framework of older branches and room for the new stems to grow out. You can remove some fruit clusters, and even thin out the grapes in the bunches, to produce larger berries, if you wish.
