You can grow the Fire Chief Heuchera anywhere in the country, from cold places to the heat and humidity of the South. It grows easily in almost any well-drained soil, but will appreciate you working some rich compost into the soil before planting. If watered regularly until well-established, it will grow even in dry shade. Equally, it can be grown in full sun in cool zones, and partial shade everywhere. It’s drought tolerant, deer resistant and almost always free of pests or diseases. Clean up dead leaves as necessary – there will be more in cold zones, and often the new growth of spring buries them anyway, if you aren’t too fussy.
