Take your garden for a whirl with the Cherry-Go-Round™ Reblooming Hydrangea, a fabulous compact variety with cherry-red blooms that look good enough to eat. This compact variety grows just 2 to 3 feet tall and wide, so it’s perfect for smaller gardens, or for mass planting in larger ones – as a stunning border along a path, for instance. It’s a rebloomer, so you have the joy of flowers in early summer from branches of the previous year, plus more flowers in late summer and fall from the new stems that grow up. It’s a great way to easily bring rich color into your garden. The large, dome-shaped flower heads contain many individual blooms, which appear pale green at first, developing red edges around near-white centers as they expand, and then maturing to solid red. The heads remain attractive for at least 6 weeks, giving you in all 3 months of bloom – amazing. The foliage is an exceptionally rich very dark green, and the large, glossy leaves with serrated edges grow right to the ground. You can grow it among other shrubs in light shade, and it also makes a great plant for a pot, where you can bring it onto a terrace or patio to really show it off.

  • Masses of bright, cherry-red flowers week after week
  • Blooms in early summer and again in late summer or fall
  • Very dark-green leaves give a rich look even before blooming
  • Grows well even in zone 5
  • Excellent for pots and planter boxes as well

Grow the Cherry-Go-Round™ Reblooming Hydrangea where it has some sun and some shade. Morning sun and afternoon shade is ideal, and if your soil is always moist, it will grow in full sun in zones 5 and 6. Avoid deep shade, which will reduce blooming. Plant in rich soil that you have added plenty of good compost too, and use more for mulch. Water well, both when newly-planted and later, when blooms are developing – this isn’t a drought-tolerant plant. The brightest reds will develop in alkaline soil, in acidic soils it will be more purple-red. Prune lightly in spring, once you see buds swelling. Remove any dead wood and weak branches, but don’t cut the tips off stems that are showing a bud on top – that one will definitely flower. When growing in cold zones you may lose branches in a cold winter, but new growth will still bloom later in the season.
