Get summer off to a real bang, by growing the Li’l Bang™ Red Elf Coreopsis among your perennials. This fabulous variety is the result of years of skilled breeding with multiple species of these native plants, and blows the socks off older varieties. Growing from a mound of narrow, lobed leaves, many flower stems push up to a height of about 12 inches, topped with beautiful daisy flowers of a rich, velvety red. They are 2 inches across, with a bright yellow center, and make a continuous show of blooms from early summer right into fall. You will love how easy it is to keep it blooming – just do nothing, because these flowers don’t make seeds, they just fade away to be replaced by more. Grow it for summer and fall color in your perennial beds; in a sunny rock garden; as an edging around a bed or along a path; or in planters and pots, where it will look great for months.

  • Large, velvety-red flowers with a golden center
  • Compact plant, just 12 inches tall
  • Bloom continuously through summer and into the fall
  • Sterile, so needs no dead-heading to keep on blooming
  • Heat, sun and drought tolerant, and grows in poor soils

Plant the Li’l Bang™ Red Elf Coreopsis in full sun for maximum flowering. It will grow in any well-drained soil, even poor, sandy and rocky ones. It will also tolerate dry periods once established, and needs little attention. For the best results, though, plant in a richer soil, and water from time to time. Not typically eaten by deer, it doesn’t have any problems with pests or diseases, and has remarkable resistance to diseases. You don’t need to dead-head, just cut back to the ground in late fall, when leaves have yellowed.
