Most gardens have difficult spots, where the sun beats down and the soil is like Death Valley. Those are the spots where you should plant the Prima Angelina Sedum – it is a true survivor. Thriving in heat and drought, and yet cold tolerant too, this great plant will carpet those bone-dry spots with no problem. It also makes a great edging plant along a path or around a terrace, and looks great in a rock garden. Use it too as a trailer spilling from planters. It forms a low carpet of trailing stems that are covered in small, evergreen, fleshy leaves of a beautiful yellow-green. They stay that color through winter, summer, and all the seasons in between. Moderately fast-growing, it soon forms a dense mat, rooting as it goes, yet never invasive and easily controlled. It rarely if ever flowers, but could produce a few sprays of yellow blooms in early summer as it ages. A fabulous choice for spots that have you tearing your hair to deal with – and for better conditions too, considering how beautiful it is.

  • A dense carpet of yellow-green foliage throughout the year
  • Thrives in the hottest, driest spot you have, and in regular soil too
  • Perfect for sunny rock gardens and dry places anywhere
  • Attractive trailing plants for planter boxes and pots
  • Reliable, year-round color that is super-easy to grow

Plant the Prima Angelina Sedum in full sun – the more the better, although it will take a touch of shade too. Plant in any well-drained soil, of any type, including sandy, rocky and poor urban soils. Water new plants for a while until it establishes – after that it will survive any amount of drought. It isn’t eaten by deer, and has no pest or disease problems, as long as you don’t plant it in wet soil. Very cold hardy, at least through zone 4, and into zone 3 with some winter damage possible if snow cover is limited. If it becomes bare in the center, just cut back, or plant some of the outer stems in the bare areas. Zero care is needed for steady, reliable growth. The lack of blooms makes it even easier, as plants that bloom need trimming to stay neat.
