The Lo & Behold® Purple Haze Butterfly Bush is a non-seeding variety of this popular plant, with traditional big purple spikes of fragrant flowers, adored by butterflies, hummingbirds and children. Yet instead of the old-fashioned oversized plants, it grows just 2 or 3 feet tall and 4 feet across, with horizontal or pendulous flower spikes on a dome-shaped, rounded bush. The gray-green leaves compliment the flower color perfectly, and this plant is in continuous bloom from June to the first hard frost. It loves those hot, sunny spots in your garden, and it is very easy to care for, and fast growing.

  • Rich purple-violet blooms from June to Frost
  • Elegant ‘old-fashioned’ look to the large flower spikes
  • Graceful broad mound of gray-green leaves
  • Thrives in sun, heat and drier soil
  • Guaranteed not to seed or spread

Everywhere from zone 5 to zone 9 you can grow this plant. Place it in full sun, in well-drained soil that is not wet and boggy in winter. Once established it is drought resistant, and heat and dryness don’t bother it – in fact the more sun the more flowers. It has no pests or diseases and it just needs an annual prune in spring to set it up for the year. It has been subjected to rigorous scientific testing, and it definitely produces no seed. It can never, ever invade natural areas – guaranteed.
