Keeping under 4 feet tall and wide, the Summer in Paradise Hibiscus is the perfect choice for a smaller garden, where you will be amazed by the proliferation of blooms, produced continuously from midsummer right up to the first hard frost. You really can pretend you are in some tropical paradise, and the enormous blooms will have you fooled. 8 inches across, and a brilliant cherry pink, these ā€˜full moons’ are produced in abundance all over the bush, not just at the tips of the branches, as older varieties do. The dense foliage – deep green and lobed – makes the perfect background, and serves up a shrub that is ideal for summer color in your beds, in spaces around your home, or in a large pot or planter box. Super cold-hardy, it bounces back in spring after the winter cold, and grows back so fast you can just about watch it happening. Tough and reliable, look forward to a summer you will never forget, wherever you are.

  • 8-inch blooms in bright cherry red
  • deep green foliage edged in olive makes for a striking bush
  • Enjoy endless flowers from midsummer to the first frost
  • A smaller variety for smaller spaces
  • Happy in cold winters and Southern heat

Plant the Summer in Paradise Hibiscus in full sun for maximum flower production. Grow it in any moist soil, or even in wet ground, such as beside a pond. Water frequently during summer for rapid growth. It will be damaged in winter in zone 4, and somewhat is zones 5 and 6 too. It will bounce back from the base or the roots, and still grow and bloom perfectly. Prune in spring once you see new growth, which often comes late, so be patient. Growth is rapid once it begins. Deer don’t eat it and it rarely has any pest or disease issues of importance. An easy plant anyone can succeed with – just add sun and water and away it goes.
