The Lo & Behold® Pink Micro Chip Butterfly Bush is a new, exciting addition to our range of butterfly bush plants. This dwarf shrub stays no more than 2 feet tall, yet it is covered for months on end with gorgeous spiked of flower in a deep, rich shade of pinky red-purple. The narrow leaves are grey-green, making a wonderful contrast with the richly colored flowers. From late spring to the first hard frost, this plant will never be without flowers, giving off their soft, honey fragrance, and attracting hoards of butterflies and even humming birds, to feed on their nectar. Plant this easy-to-grow dwarf shrub in any sunny place, as the foreground for a bed of larger shrubs or flowers, or among gravel and stones in a rocky area. This plant thrives in hot, dry conditions, so use it wherever you have places like that. Children love this colorful plant, and they love even more the remarkable array of insects it attracts. This plant is one of a larger series of dwarf butterfly bushes called Lo & Behold®.

  • Spikes or pinky red-purple flowers
  • Contrasting grey-green foliage
  • Dwarf growth for any sized garden
  • Easily grown in a dry, sunny place
  • Produces no seeds to threaten the local ecology

Plant your Pink Micro Chip Butterfly Bush in an area with full sun. it needs plenty of sun to thrive. Plant it in sandy, well-drained soil, not in rich, heavy soil, and after it has become established, this is a very drought-resistant plant. It has no serious pests or diseases, and it does not even need dead-heading, as it produces no seed. This lack of seed is very important if you live in an area where these plants can, or have, escaped into natural areas, as they pose a threat to local ecology. This plant only begins to grow again, especially in colder zones, in late spring, so give it plenty of time to re-sprout before pruning out any weak or dead wood. It grows rapidly, so very soon it will be ‘back in business’ blooming away and bringing all those beautiful insects to your garden.
