The Phenomenal Lavandin is a tough hybrid lavender that forms dense, neat mounds of foliage up to 3 feet tall. It is perfect for hedges and accent planting with a Mediterranean flavor. In June and July many stems of bright blue-violet flowers sprout out, lasting 6 weeks or more. The whole plant, including both flowers and leaves, has an intense, classic lavender scent, perfect for sachets and dry bunches. It can be trimmed into neat hedges or domes, and is a perfect choice for hot, dry places and exposed areas, tolerating wind, dryness and heat well.

  • Dense, compact mound of gray-green silvery foliage
  • Profuse blooming of violet-blue flowers on dense spikes
  • Over 6 weeks bloom period in June and July, with fall re-blooming
  • Perfect for hedges and dreams of Provence
  • Drought tolerant and grows well in poor, dry soil

Full sun is needed to grow the Phenomenal Lavandin well. Avoid shade and crowding among other plants. Well-drained soil is best, and this plant grows well in poor, sandy soils, including very alkaline soils, although this variety has good growth in acid soil too. It rarely suffers from pests and has excellent resistance to both summer and winter rot diseases (Pythium). Deer normally ignore it. A light trim in spring is all it takes to keep it perfect.
