The Chippewa Blueberry is a compact high-low hybrid variety bred especially for the coldest parts of the country. It has large sky-blue berries with delicious flavor, sweetness and excellent texture. Mature bushes will produce up to 8 pounds of berries in July, which can be easily frozen for the rest of the year – no wasted crops. It grows no more than 5 feet tall, so it’s ideal for smaller gardens and growing in tubs or boxes. The beautiful flowers and wonderful fall colors of orange, gold and red make it useful as a garden shrub, so grow fruit right among your flowers.

  • Hybrid variety created especially for cold zones
  • High yields up to 8 pounds per bush
  • Beautiful fall colors in the garden
  • Compact size for container growing
  • Needs acidic soil for good growth

Plant the Chippewa Blueberry in full sun for the best results. It is hardy even in zone 3, and grows well right into zone 7. It should be grown in acidic soil with a pH below 5.0. If you don’t have suitable soil, grow it in a pot with an acid soil mix. Pests and diseases are rare, and no special pruning or training is needed. This is a self-pollinating variety, so a second bush is not needed, although another variety of blueberry nearby will give you a higher yield.
